DURN!

i haven't seen any of your work around in ages! sure was a treat to see this masterpiece in the top 5. you really captured a chill atmosphere with this one, as you intended. looking forward to more, friend! keep it up!

durn responds:

FLOATINGMAGICTREE!

haha, I've still been putting tunes up (maybe you should go see what -else- I've been up to ;)) -- just haven't been on top5 in a bit, eh. :) Thank you and I shall definitely keep it up!

incredible

i just don't get tired of this track, seriously you two have outdone yourselves! I'll cut to the chase right away, 5/5 and 10/10

0:00 - 0:36: really powerful intro here, brings on the energy quickly
0:38 - 1:07 - excellent breakdown and build to the drop
1:08 - 1:50 - incredibly heavy drop, really good, especially the mechanical sounding arp on the 4th bar
1:50 - 2:52 - equally good breakdown and build as 0:38
2:52 - rest of song - HOLY SHIT MY FAVORITE FUCKING PART. this second drop was insane and came down HARD AS ALL RELATIVE FUCK. SERIOUSLY IT MAKES ME WANT TO BREAK SHIT AND FISTBUMP MOSHPIT BREAKING ARMS AND SHIT YEAH

i really really love this song, especially with its intense dubstep elements and electro influences. keep it up you two

TIMarbury responds:

thanks dude for the detailed and epic review. glad you enjoyed it and we are going to do more collab work in the future :). we feed off each other well.

so much sampling

lots of your wobbles, basses, etc. are sampled from skrillex songs, which becomes really evident after a while. also lay off the modern talking, it's getting a little old at this point

Basilisk responds:

Let me just add that absolutely ZERO "0" of my bass, wobbles, ect are sampled... This is one of the few responses I'll respond back to for educational purposes. I use Ableton Live, Reaktor, and NI Massive and alot of the sounds Skrillex has created have inspired me to create my own. IDK if skrillex uses the same plugins however they start to drive to the same point and sound related. I DO NOT Sample... especially Skrillex, he nearly only inspires me. Thank You though :)

WHAT DID YOU DOOOO

my ears hurt

(dammit)

DjAbbic responds:

Thanks, good luck to you too sir.

wow.

consider all my stereotypes about women and their inability to make dubstep lifted

GirlStep responds:

Thanks! Oddly enough I suck at cooking and hate cleaning so maybe I'm just different <_<

....:D

I agree with DISTRIX, your music is really fresh. You have a distinct sound in all your songs that makes them so recognizable and amazing. Keep up the awesome work!

durn responds:

:) Thank you, floatingmagictree! lol, love your monicker. Makes me think of silly cartoon characters dancing around.

[ED]: Aw, you changed it. :P

Crazy

I seriously can't stop listening to this. It's really good man.

What DAW and plugins do you use, and how long have you been making music?

PrEmoEffect responds:

Well, (thank you by the way) I've been making music for approximately 4 years I believe; however, as you can see from my submissions, I took a huge break in my junior year of high school to focus on school (it payed off). Once I found a way to manage my time better, I started producing again in the summer. An interesting thing to note is that a couple hours of well managed and focused time for production ends up being much more productive than hours toiling around for ideas/sounds/etc. I currently use Ableton Live, and I think I will stick with it. I will be taking another break next year, and I might not continue, but if I can find a way to manage my time, again, that might change.

great

I listen to this song everyday when I wake up, it's definitely been having a great effect on me. I see absolutely no flaws, and the music is definitely in your style :D

Keep up the great work, you're on of my favorite musicians here on NG!

durn responds:

:) w00t, floatingmagictree! Thanks for using the track in your wake-up playlist! :D And extra thanks for the kind words!

Eh....

Sorry to admit, most of your songs use sounds that are too generic, and it's just plain annoying to listen too.

ChrisAkaFedora responds:

okay, what's generic about them? i may not have been submitting audio for very long, but I know that this is pretty different from many other things on the site. but thanks for the critique.

I use FL Studio 10. I've been making music since late March 2011.
